About

On 13th June 2008 I went for a 3.85km run around my local park.
It was 534 days until I ran again. In the days in between I had joined a gym and not gone to it, sat on a couch and ate cake.That cold & wet November lunch time I went for a run, because I couldn’t be bothered walking for 10 min to get to the gym, the one I paid £40 a month not to use.
When I came home from that 15 minute run I decided to take part in the Manchester 10k in May 2010, you can read all about my 1st Run and how I got on at the Manchester 10k in 2010
I have three reasons for running;
  1. I can’t just sit on the couch eating cake for the rest of my life, or if I do I need to do something to counteract the effects of eating all that cake.
  2. I’ve no desire to be the fattest mummy at the school gate, plus I have those “skinny jeans” I want to fit back into
  3. When I go out to run, I get to leave everything behind. It is one of the only times I have to answer to no one else except myself. I get no phone calls or demands. I have nothing to think about except putting one foot in front of the other. Running for the Quiet
